Bandwidth
Management - Overview
CIPAFilter's bandwidth monitoring will graph
the top 20 IP addresses, for each routed subnet, that are using
the most bandwidth. It allows an administrator to easily identify unwanted
traffic, find the source machine, and correct the problem. It also
aids in identifying trends of Internet usage and traffic patterns,
in order to better optimize the network, or know when its time
to upgrade to more bandwidth.
Bandwidth monitoring is simply an additional feature
that is enabled on CIPAFilter. The table and statistics are updated
every few minutes, and easily viewed with a web browser from anywhere.
- Monitor P2P Traffic and Control P2P Bandwidth Consumption
- Block Kazza, Bit-torrent, Limewire, Morpheus
- Block Chat programs (MSN,AOL, Yahoo, ICQ and more)
- Monitor unwanted traffic and bandwidth consumption
- Easily identify issues on network
- Control and prioritize network traffic
- Easily viewed through a table and color-coded graph
- Monitors TCP, UDP,HTTP, P2P, ICMP and VPN
Bandwidth Control & QOS
CIPAFilter’s Bandwidth Management package combines
a variety of tools to monitor, identify, and control network traffic
and Internet bandwidth consumption.
The Bandwidth Monitoring system graphs bandwidth
usage by IP address in a database and allows one to find the top machines
that are consuming bandwidth, at what times, and what type of traffic
it was and at what rates. This helps identify malicious software and
unwanted programs in use on the network. Bandwidth monitoring is
easily added to any CIPAFilter. The statistics are updated every few
minutes and accessed through the web-management interface.
In order for CIPAFilter to monitor traffic, all traffic
has to physically pass through the unit. This is accomplished with
CIPAFilter installed as a transparent in-line bridge or firewall.
The Bandwidth Control allows traffic shaping, prioritization
and bandwidth limitations by single IP address or subnet. Control upload
and download speeds easily. This helps guarantee bandwidth for certain
traffic while limiting other programs from hogging bandwidth at the
expense of other more important applications.
